Craignure Map.
Craignure is where the Oban to Mull ferry terminates on the Isle of Mull. Craignure is worth a visit in its own right, whether you are going as a foot passenger on the ferry from Oban or taking your car across for a longer stay on the island.

There are a number of attractions all within easy reach of Craignure. You can walk through the woods or catch the Mull narrow gauge railway. The Duart coach meets the ferries from Oban and will take you to and from the ancient Clan Maclain castle of Duart, full of history; the tearoom has delicious home baking, well worth a visit. Torosay Castle has a large children's activity area which is sure to keep the kids entertained for hours. The scenery from Craignure across to the main land is superb.

Visit state rooms in the 13th century keep, take a journey back through the ages in the exhibition of clan history, see the prisoners in the dungeons and climb to the top of the keep for spectacular views. The CalMac ferry to Mull lands at Craignure. The Duart Coach meets it daily. By car, Duart is 1.5 miles from the Kilpatrick turning on the A849. A great inexpensive way to get to Craignure is as a foot passenger on the ferry. Buy Ferry Return tickets for Craignure, including the Duart Coach and Castle entry from the Oban Calmac Office. As you can see from this whole feature there is much to do at Craignure, with Torosay Castle and Gardens, The Mull Railway and woodland walk. A great day out!

 



Craignure has a number of woodland walks that that add to the choices available for a good day out from Oban. It is always worth considering coming as a foot passenger with a day return on the Mull ferry to Craignure.
