This area covers a few small towns and villages. Heading out of Oban you pass Poppies Garden Centre, a delightful location right on the water, where you may stop for a homemade cake and coffee, or a meal. Just a little futher along is the widemouthed frog and the home to Chalice Charters where you could enjoy a cruise out in the open sea. As you approach Connel you will see The Oyster Inn Hotel and Restaurant, with its spectacular views across to Mull, Lismore and Morven. At this junction you have the option of carrying on along this road towards Taynuilt, or turning off and heading over the bridge towards Benderloch where you can enjoy a little Tralee Rally Karting, while stopping at the beautiful Tralee Bay Beach, with it's beautiful white sand and sand dunes. Barcaldine is home to The Scottish Sealife Sanctuary, which is a wonderful experience for the entire family. Heading towards Taynuilt, you pass the delicious bakery Cruachan Croft , Tailored Tours where Andrew can give you a guided tour and tell you the History of everything Scottish, in true traditional Scottish Attire. Book an appointment to have a little Reiki Healing with a Reiki Master in Taynuilt, or stop by Brander Lodge for a good nights rest or a delicious meal.
As you approach the Bridge of Awe, you will see the sign posts for Inverawe Smokery, Fisheries and Visitors Centre. Here you may view a real working smokery, and learn about the traditional way of smoking fish. There is a also a shop to purchase some of the delightful produce. There are plenty of oportunities along the way to stop and enjoy homemade cooking and baking whenever you feel the desire, so be sure to sample some of Scotlands traditional dishes.
