South Of Oban

South of Oban is home to Kilmartin House Museum, and also Kilmartin Glen which is one of the most important archaelogical sites in Europe.

The beautiful conservation area of Easdale  is also to the South of Oban, just a 16 mile drive, where you can visit museums, take a boat ride to see wildlife or places of interest, or take a short 5 minute ferry ride to Easdale Island. Easdale Island is a car free island with no roads and is home to the World Stone Skimming championships.

The Isle Of Luing is a small Island , just a short Ferry ride away from the mainland. Here you can rent bikes and cycle the Island.

The ferry runs every half hour, on the hour and half hour from the Seil side. The only exception is lunchtime when the ferrymen take a break at 1pm (so you need to catch the 12:30pm or 1:30pm ferry).

Once you're on the island you can drive to Cullipool or if you're on foot it's a 30 minute walk

The Loch Melfort Hotel is a great place to stop and visit after a walk around Arduaine Gardens, where you will see spectacular flowers and wooded gardens.

Ardfern is a small village with a Marina and Chandlery as well as a being home to The galley of Lorne Hotel with a Restaurant which welcomes non residents, perfect after a day out.
